brake hose size

Before i continue i have searched and maybe i didnt type the relevent search keywords but i came up with nothing that answed my question.
Right that out of the way, On my way to work i went to apply my brake and found vertually nothing there O_O, On ferther inspection i found a huge split in my top vacume hose going from the servo to the manifold.
I am in the process of perchasing some silicon hose to replace it but i need the diameter.
Flame away if ya like but also pls supply an answer as i have no other means of transport so i have to drive like this.
Thanx in advance guys.
steve.

I don't know what the size is of that one, but here in the US you can just go to an autoparts store and get lots of vaccum line for cheap at very little cost.

You should really invest in a micrometer. I just measured the diameter of the metal tube that the hose clamps onto and it's 10mm.

Also, you shouldn't use silicone hose for something that may come in contact with brake fluid. It's incompatible with it. Chemical gurus can explain. I'm not 100% certain of the brake booster construction, but I think you should stick with rubber for this part. It'll save you a little bit of money, and is probably more readily available than silicone hose.

10mm .. thank you v much .. my dilema was also that i could not take the hose off for fear of it breaking all together and making the issue a lot worse and if it was unobtainable that same day i would be stuck with no transport to work and back as i work strange hours now.
once again thanx .. and thanx for the tip of sticking to rubber, big help.
Ta steve. :D
