brake disc's dont fit? happened to you?
i ordered a set of rotors for my FD. the discs dont seem to fit well in the calipers with new pads. i had to use my old worn pads to get the rotors to fit. (had to even tap with a mallet. has anyone ever had this problem before? heres the link to the site I ordered the brakes from.

Did you compress the pistons?
|
when you changed the pads did you retract the piston(s) back into the caliper?

Sorry, it was the first thing that came to mind. I don't know of anyone that's tried that brake set. You might find some answers searching...

Check on page P-4 of the factory service manual. Obviously the thickness (fr:22mm/r:20mm) is the dimension most in question.
You can compare the offset of by measuring and comparing to the original rotors. Dave |
you know that when you compress one side, the other side tends to pop back out...
compress one side, swap the pad on that side, then compress the other. see if that way works. either that or take the lid off your brake fluid reservoir |
Keep us posted on the out come. I was thinking about getting the same brake kit.

Some new pads don't fit with new rotors and a bunch of shims. Some pads come with their own shims (sheet of meterial on the backing plate) so they don't fit with both sets of stock shims.
It is unlikely that the rotor is too thick (does not meet spec). -Max |
