Bose Radio Code? HELP
I wanna to replace the battery but I forget the radio code. Does anyone know how to find out the code beside pay to the dealer? I heard we may call the code out from pressing some button. So, please help !!!

Not to offend, but if you search, you WILL find the code that the dealer uses to reset the system. It IS on this forum!!

Originally posted by newbernd It's not that bleak.. I searched for a while to find the code.. I had one dealer tell me he had to replace the whole unit for $380. When I told him that I knew he just had to punch in a code, he hung up on me. Rediculous. Anyway: Press "SCAN" Press "AM/FM" Press "AUTO M" Press "Tune UP" The display should read "------" Using the memory presets buttons, enter the code "1 4 1 4" Press "Scan" and "Auto M" simultaneously and hold until the clock appears. The radio should now be cleared. There is a time limit on entering each command, so it may take one or two tries. --Dave |
The info is ALMOST impossible to find in a search

Re: Re: Radio Code
Originally posted by newbernd Panasonic radio? Was that the factory radio in the UK? Here in the states, it was either Bose in the touring or an OEM radio made by (I think?) Clarion in the base & R1 models. THis code works fine with my R1 stereo.. I'd guess your panasonic is aftermarket, and has a seperate code. panasonic is the original in europe. the buttons are the same, like the description....but after i put the code 1414 and pressing the two buttons, the "err" still comes... i don´t know what i should do..... greetings charly |
Sorry.. I guess I can't help then. Keep looking on the net.. I know I've seen Miata & other codes posted somewhere else a year or two earlier. You might stumble on to it.
The only other thing I could see working is going to the dealer. And that can only be ugly. Sounds like a good opportunity to put a better radio in. ..Dave |
Does anyone else have any insight into how to make this work? I just put my car back together after sitting over the winter and the CD player doesn't work, it just spits the CDs right back out.
I tried the above sequence for about 15 minutes last night and couldn't get it to do anything. |
