Boot to use with mazdaspeed shifter?
 

Hi, just curious if the MS short shifter needs a special (rubber) boot, or if the stock shift boot works.

Being that the shifter is discontinued, I am hoping the, or a, proper boot is not.

Yea the small rubber boot is the same. Check this thread, there is an alternative part number for a miata boot that is cheaper but almost identical.

The Mazdaspeed shifters and most of the replicas use the stock boot.

turns out my lower boot is torn so I will need to get that Miata part!

I think I will do a full replace when i install...

Do I also need the plastic bushing that fit around the ball, as in (upper left):
