well, you dont get any boost while ur stopped and i think you get 6 pounds stock boost anyway. maybe the installation might me bad or ur losing a pound of boost somewhere.

snagalittle 03-25-04 11:05 PM

i was told that you got 10psi stock

ReDHot7 03-25-04 11:08 PM

what is your vacuum at idle??

Swolbynos 03-25-04 11:08 PM

10-8-10

snagalittle 03-25-04 11:13 PM

vacuum is 14 to 16

rdavidsrx7 03-25-04 11:17 PM

yeah should go 10-8-10 stock as mentioned....your gonna have to check some vacuum lines and check for boost leaks. vacuum looks a little low for stock ports but that could be nothin...try searchin the forum too, before ya get jumped on.

I am not that great on these computers so dont jump me to much please. i have tried to search for what i need to look at to find were the leak might be. But have had no luck. What are the main places for a leak. does anyone have a diagram of the hoses and were boost is affected at.

do you hear a "woosh" sound under boost? if so it sounds like a coupler between the turbo to the crossover to the intercooler to the intake elbow.

if you don't hear a wooshing type sound that sound slike air escaping then it is vacuum related which is a pain.

list any aftermarket parts on your car, mileage etc. oh and check the newbie stickers for some good info about booost issues and such. no searching involved just click and scroll through the various topics.

silly question but were you driving when you were checking for boost? or were you just parked not moving reving the engine?

Seriously, go here:

i was driving when i checked the boost. I dont here a woosh sound under the hood. It looks as though there are brand new couplers installed. i just got the car about 3 weeks ago. i didnt have a boost gauge at the time but the car had alot more power when i bought it. It had a complete compression test at kd rotary in tx. along with all fluids changed and complete check up. They said it had very high compression witch they inreturn belived the car had a rebuilt engine under 12,000 miles. It has no upgrades at the time i have a downpipe and a intake in the mail. Thanks for the help
