Boost Sensor?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know what is in the picture? I can see an unplugged socket, I don’t remember what is it for! looks like a boost sensor for the gauges or boost controller? Tried to find the other connector but couldn’t see one. My FD suddenly has boost creep (over boost) when I accelerate the boost goes way above 0.8bar, goes upto 1.38bar as last recorded by the Greddy Profec Electronic Boost controller. Luckily the REDOM ECU has a boost cut/fuel cut. Is it related? Any ideas? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...31c6f6a2a.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...3b9f2900e.jpeg |
Most pressure (boost) sensors have 3 pins, so that's a good guess. That doesn't look like any of the OEM Mazda connectors to me, so it most likely goes to an aftermarket sensor. I would follow that section of the wire harness to see where it goes.

Looks like it might be a line for aftermarket boost control using the factory sensor. https://www.raceonly.com.au/product/...ensor-harness/
It's def not OEM |
Yeah it's definitely not OEM, I think it's from Greddy, my concerns are why is it unplugged and where is the other plug? I can't find it, is it the reason for the over boost?

It's hard for someone on the internet to guess why something is unplugged on your car. My guess is a person disconnected it and forgot to plug it back in. That type of connector should be pretty secure when it's plugged in.
If your boost controller is not connected to a boost sensor, it will probably not work like normal. Can the boost controller show the boost pressure, so you can check if the controller is measuring boost properly? |
Here it is: GReddy
To answer your question: Yes, it shows the boost pressure, but won't do anything when i set it to Low Boost or High Boost parameter setups, although it used to work, but now no. Over Boost all the time. I am trying to find the other plug... |
