Boost problem when lights on
 

A friend of mine have this kind of problem with their FDs. Even when the 1st stage lights are on he can't build up boost. The car has recently been in a major refresh and the engine is completely new (out of crate).
In the beginning everything was o.k. but now he has this prob. This happened after 1000km (600miles).
Any thoughts???

low batt? bad alternator?

Everything on that car is new....
Engine, alternator, bat, wiring tree, solenoid valves, fuel pump, ignition coils etc.

dont see how lights would effect the boost if the bat and alt are new....

Put a voltmeter across the battery while running with the light on. it shouldn't be less than 12.5 or so. Just cause its new don't mean it aint broke.
