Boost problem has Rick's rotary stumped!!
 

Hi people, here's the story. My FD's first turbo makes just 8lbs boost, the 2nd only 4lbs.
Rick removed the upper plenum, checked operation of vacuum solenoids, hoses, checked for restrictors in turbo lines, checked actuator operation at exhaust manifold, replaced vacuum lines that were kinked, substituted another computer to check boost, checked the check valves and can't find the root of the boost problem. No problems with the turbos. He's stumped and recommends using a HKS EVC IV to over-ride the stock boost controls.

Anyone has any had a problem like this before? If you guys are in touch with any of the rotary tuners, please ask them too. I'm going to get the boost controller but would like to know what's the problem.

My impression is that there is a leak in your vaccuum/boost lines or you're missing the pills in the turbos.

Verify both lines to the TCA are working after transition. Vacuum on one, pressure on the other.

I forgot to add that Rick said to boost the 2nd turbo to higher than 4psi, after 45000rpm, release and step on the accelerator again.

CHECK YOUR CLAMPS! honestly.. it happened to my friends FD.. like he had very little boost if not none and all it ended up being was that the clamps lost their tightness.. i also am getting shitty 2nd and not the greatest primary.. but ya.. sometimes its something stupid thats costs only 5 dollars
