boost pressure problems. HELP!
so i got in my fd today and it just wasn't boosting right. it wouldn't make over .85 psi no matter how much gas i gave it. i got home opened the hood and a coupler had come undone so i fixed that and put it back on and thought that would fix it. but when i went out and drove it again it still had the same problem. i cant get even get 1 psi. has this happened to anyone else. any suggestions or ideas of what could be wrong.

sounds like boost leak. check all the couplers for cracks and tighten everything down. so did you just buy this car or did you just get it back from a shop?

i just bought the car. flew down to Arizona and drove it back up to Washington. but i will hit the gas and it will get up to 4200 rpm where the boost usually kicks in hard and it will just keep revving up and make very little boost. you can hear the turbo and the BOV is super quiet so you do know that it is making some boost but its making less then 1psi still. so idk. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

as stated check all the couplers where the boosted air travels up into the upper intake mani. tighten and check every vacuum line and check to see that the oem coupler where the cross pipe and the y pipe meets ( the black 3inch hoes) is not cracked on the back side. |
ya i tried all of that still no luck :(

What are you using to monitor your boost pressure? Do you have a separate gauge other than your Power FC Commander? |
sorry i didn't catch that but really, stick to the basic things you need to check and it might also help if you have someone (another fd owner) take a look. often times a second set of eyes can detect the simplest of things that you are over looking
|
Karl, as he said above, if you need an extra set of eyes just call me if you've still got my number from the last PM I sent you. I'd be happy to come take a look when I've got some free time

got everything sorted out today tim stopped by and it was quite a simple fix. just had to reset my boost controller lol. how come i didn't think of that :hahaha:
