So a have a 99 spec motor with apexi intakes, and I deleted the air pump and plumbing and was wondering if the intake pipe holes could cause boost problems? Heres a pic to see what im taking about. I just recently removed the black pipes of there so there are 3 fairly big holes on both intakes.

No they won't cause boost problems, but they will suck in unfiltered air. Not so good.

Okk thats what I thought. Cant figure out were my leak is at. is there any easy ways to spot leaks. took off the uim and checked almost all my vac line, they looked good. Just did major block off plates on everything and capped about 5 or 6 vac lines. car idles ok, but in gear have no power. Any suggestions ar helpful...

boost leak tester. It'll pressurize the system and you can hear leaks. Do a seach for it.

ok thats what i figured, I need a compressor to do the test though right?

I made one of those for about 5 dollars out of some PVC pipe and caps...

If your a bit crafty it shouldn't be hard to do.

That being said, even with that kit it will still be hard to find boost leaks. I spent about 4 hours trying to find boost leaks, and thought I had found them all. Bolted everything back up and I'm still running a 10-5-7 pattern...

I give you a suggest,
Change all lines, if you have break one you will soon break another one.
I lost a lot of time making test over test without any relust, the car was running good when cold, but After 15 minutes driving the hot on the engine bay make the rubber softer and then...air leak.
Once you open your hood make a job one time and then forghet about.
Hope to have helped you.

ok guys figured it out. kept blowing pipe off. The hot pipe going to the turbos was just barely popped off, but gave it enough to no boost right. checked all my vas lines and they are still in good shape. I checked them when I did the block off plates, so figured it wasnt those. went through all the piping yesterday and made sure everything was connected right, and now im running good.

Will post a some pics of my conversion once I get my camera back from my friend. Thanks for the help guys.
