boost fades to 6 or 2 psi after 4500 in 4th

I'm doing some troubleshooting on my newly installed reman, and think i may have hooked something up wrong here. Engine runs great and makes 10-12 psi easy on the primary, but boost fades to 6 or 2 psi after 4500 in 4th. I have home depot manual boost and precontrol valves, and the precontrol works fine, but the boost valve has no effect at all on secondary boost- even closing it completely makes no difference. I'm thinking I may have reversed the electrical connectors at the wastegate control and turbo precontrol solenoids, because there is no white dot visible on the connectors that go there. (I can't even really test over 4500 rpm on the street here in chicago because of the ridiculous traffic) ONE of the connectors going to those solenoids has some tape around the wires going into it, is this the one that goes to the solenoid with the white dot, or is that just a coincidence? I've done a preliminary read thru of the vanditmars guide, but just wondering if anyone has a quick tip before I tear into it further (everything is connected, my next step is to reverse those connectors and go for a short drive, then switch back and maybe tee into turbo control actuator lines and see what's going on there.

may be you forgot to install the pills in your secondary turbo lines. I had the same problem with my primary, yet i still have yet to figure out the 6 PSI pattern on my secondary.

boost cont'd

No pills needed, I have needle valves for boost and precontrol.

what exactly is the pill?

they are orfices inserted in the rubber lines that dampen or restrict flow to the wastegate & precontrol actuator diaphragms. for higher boost or precontrol adjustment, people put adjustable needle valves in place of the pills
