Boost Controller for FD Rx7

Does anyone have any recommendation for a good not too expensive (manual perhaps) boost controller to prevent boost creep/spike from gutted cats and intake?

Seriously, search. From my personal searching the profec specb seems to be popular, but read up on it, there are some recommended settings around.

i have a greddy profec b spec II and i love it i did a lot of research before i purchased mine and the 2 best at protecting against creep and spike are the one i have and the apexi boost controler. However the apexi one is 500 and has a lot of features that most people won't use and has the same performance level as the greddy for 300. It hasn't ever spiked on mine cause it has a preset limit feature that forces the wastegate open. my low boost is set at 12psi and my limit is set at 12.5psi and the screen flashes from blue to red and emits an audible beep loud enough to be heard over the cars exhaust. it has 2 boost settings and an off setting when off it will run whatever your wastegate is designed to run. it also has a start boost feature and helps with spool up it determines when your wastegate starts to open the later it starts opening the quicker your car spools but if you open it too late then it will try to spike.

I'm using JoeP inlines on my precontrol and wastegate:

A boost controller should be able to take care of the spiking but it can't do anything about the creep. The boost creep is caused by the inability of the watesgate to divert exhaust away from the turbos. You need to either make it harder for the exhaust to go through the turbos (an exhaust restrictor plate) or you can make it easier for the exhaust to go through the wastegate (port the opening).

Also +12 or whatever on using search. This might be the most asked question in the 3rd gen forum. There are many many diagrams and pages of advice on the subject.

don't use a manual boost controler yes they are cheaper but they don't offer anything in way of protection for your engine i have seen many engines ruined over people using these things to save a couple hundred bucks if you want more power do it the propper safe way or not at all.

I use a tru boost controller. Its simple and it looks like a boost gauge.

Currently running a Turbosmart Eboost Street on my FD, but all previous cars of mine have run the Greddy Profec B Spec II.. Love the greddy to death! The turbosmart is probably the more user friendly controller, but im used to the Greddy unit and prefer it much more.
