Boost controller compensation?
I only have a downpipe and catback so far, but want to get better contol over boost spikes in cold weather. Changing pills takes too long, so I'd like to go to an electronic controller, but I don't know much about them.
Does the either the Profec B type II or the type S automatically compensate for changes in ambient air temperature/pressure/altitude and limit the maximum boost, or do you have to adjust it manually? Thanks |
I have the profeb spec II. No it does not compensate for enviromental changes. However There is a maximum boost warning where if for whatever reason the boost exceeds it (Too cold outside, or while one is trying to tune it) the controller kicks in (limiter) and automatically reduces the boost. Then what you do is manually hit the set button turn the knob on your controller to lower your current boost setting. Takes 2 seconds :)
