Boost Controller ..............

I'm on the market for one since the PFC.

My mind tells me that staying with the same brand keeps things simple............. in this case Apexi AVC-R

But I heard that just a simple one like the Greddy Profec-B works fine.

I like to hear from you some opinions, facts experiences on the other makes and models out there. Do some work better then others in keeping boost at accurate levels once set?

There seems to be a huge cost difference amongst them and some have different features..... what are the extra features and do I really need them?

One difference is price, the apex unit is more. Basically your paying for a pretty unit with other features like boost gauge and a display. The profec b is all you really need because its simple and works.

If you've ever played with one the AVC-R is anything but simple. Since you are staying with sequential twins, get the profec B

My home depot boost controller is really simple. If I could only remember which way to turn it for more boost. I guess it's not simple enough.........HAHA

Hmmm... clockwise to close the needle valve, which reduces the vacuum signal to the wasegate, which opens it less, which increases boost, right?

Victor,

what about the other ones from HKS, Blitz, etc...??

I want the best one in ease of use and accuracy.......... it's just scary to see my PFC say .83 bar and my Blitz dual turbo timer to say 1.08.......

That is a big difference that would be a disaster.........

If you want the one that's easiest to use and is accuracte go with the Profec B. I assume you've still got the seq. twins and not a single turbo. The profect B will also allow you to set a low boost and a high boost level that you can switch whenever you want to. I believe the Profec B is also one of the best priced units out there. Just my $.02

i am running the hks evc4 and it is a great boost control unit no spiking and no creep at all, the evc4 is a simple unit you can turn it off and you will boost 7lbs and when you turn it on you will boost what you have it set to, setting the unit is also easy as simple as turning the dial to raise boost or to decrease it.
