boost?

OK so i followed the factory suggested boost test, which is to be in 3rd gear and accel from 35mph and watch the boost. my boost began to clime to about 8 psi then as the secondary turbo came on, it began to gain back to just shy of 7psi, then quickly drop to about 3psi. i am running a completely stock set up. any ideas of what it could be or how to fix it?

The first step for cases like this is to make a thorough check for boost leaks. There is a thread in the FAQ links showing what to look for. Remove all couplers and inspect for damage.

If that's not the problem, you may have two problems here - one limiting you to 8psi, and another preventing it from reaching full boost in parallel mode. It's quite possible you just have a couple loose vacuum hoses or broken nipples.

1. Check your intercooler hoses for boost leaks as DGeesman suggested. Its the easiest step.
2. Check to see if your cat is clogged. I think this might be the culprit for you. Search for my user name and clogged cat as I have a couple of posts on it.
3. Follow the link DaveW kindly provided.

The FAQ thread also has some good info on this stuff.
