Blue Smoke?
When I start my engine in the morning, a puff of blue smoke comes out.. What is this due to? Bad apex seals?
|
condensation man..when its warmed up.. does it still smoke? If it does it might be coolant seals..
|
hey said blue smoke. not white smoke.. the blue smoke is prolly oil that either your turbo is leaking or you have an oil seal going out. Does your car smoke under high rpms or WOT?

well i believe because rotaries inject oil directly into the combustion chamber that there's some extra in there when you shut it off which may burn off when you restart it. that is one possibility. another is leaky turbos. try popping off the pipe coming from the turbo or a pipe around the IC or whatever to see if there's much oil in it. some is ok but excessive is not.
but i'm no expert so dont' take my word. |
Thanks, sporff. I'll definitely check that out.

if it goes away after warm up, your fine

Look out the back when u kick in the turbo's. Does it smoke then. If so its a leaky turbo seal. It will smoke upon cold start and at boost.
