Blowed up? or Blown off?

While racing around on the highway last night, I hit redline in 2nd gear. After that I got all the neat your-motor-is-dead symptoms: Loss of power, very erradic boost, wacky vacuum. I was not boosting high, only .7 on the PFC (approx 13psi). I pulled off to check for lumpy idle but the car died and will not start.

Usually the car will start when the motor is blown (correct?) but has poor idle and vacuum. The car will turn over but chugs and will not start. Could there be another issue with the motor, such as a blown off hose?

My only other thought that it may not be blown is that when I was decelerating I got good (500 mmHg) vacuum and the no starting thing.

Is there any thing else I should check before taking the car to get a compression check.

Thx!

On a related note... How are the rebuilds from rx7.com? They look pretty slick.

memmi ....youre motor is dead !!!!...nah man i dont think so ,i dont think it can break by just hitting the rev limiter (if thats all that happened )
is there spark???
do you have fuel pressure
remember for an engine to start you need just 3 things
fuel ,spark , compression
if one of those is not there it wont start
its always good to do the comp. test though (i know nobody likes to) but it IS the quickest way to know if youre fucked or not
good luck

.7 bar is NOT 13 psi.

more like 10psi

Yea, I should clarify. I typically measure boost via the boost gauge which reads 13psi. The PFC commander reported .70 after the incident. I believe it reads absolute as opposed to manifold pressure which would be different for me since I'm about a mile high.

BTW TTT, I think you've got the prettiest engine bay I've ever seen. I've got a pic you posted a while back. Meticoulous!

Check your Map sensor vacuum hoses.
