Blow off valve mods...

Blow off valve modification.

Well for simplicity's sake and since im non sequential, i tee'd together my bov's and am only running one, is that bad?

I think he means bad as in "what the fuck am I going to break by doing this" bad.

So is it "bad" in this context?

sigh

I mean is it bad as in can cause some sort of damage...

I heard that each blow off valve has thier own different function. That is why it has two to begin with... but I'm not 100% sure if I'm correct.
I was wondering why we have two BOV's anyways either~~~ Lets talk about this....
What happens if you tee the two into one....
anyone?

purerx7 04-12-06 07:14 AM

one is a bov and the other is a crv. Do a search...

bheiman 04-12-06 09:39 AM

but im non sequential...

so the vacuum lines get tee'd together so i figuered tee the bovs into one...

also, i bought/made this whistle thingy and put it in a hose and the hose on a the bov and the thing is freakin loud as heck. its great, some guy that just bought a 230$ bov for his evo wants me to make him one...

just out of curiosity what did you use to make the whistle thing? My friend has been trying to convince me to do something similar but i had never seen anyone do it before.

your friend is a ricer =P

$_RXHEAVEN_$ 04-12-06 10:58 AM

yes he also suggested that i extend the hose so it exits in the fender or somewhere??? ur right he is a bit of a ricer, i guess that y he sold his 'stang. But seriously if its doesnt cost anything and makes it sound cooler ill at least try it. It cant hurt to try right.
P.S. wait a minute, just gotta put my flame suit on lol

that is fine. if you were still sequential then the rear one would be the CRV which releases excess air to help spool up the second turbo to the right speed. since you switched to non-sequential they both act as blow-off valves. T'ing the vacuum hose is fine, as long as it is getting a vacuum sorce from somewhere it will work. both the CRV and BOV on a stock car are essentially the same "part", they just preform different functions. By switching to non-sequential they both act as BOV's since both turbo's are running in parallel.

yes and i spliced the hoses going to the Blow off valves into 1 then 1 bklow off valve...

Honestly its nice, i get some spool and let off a bit but keep accelerating a bit and it makes a nice loud constant whistle that sounds like a huge turbo. I freaked some people out and when i got back from Arizona and got my car back from the body shop i told everyone i have a gt42R.
Sadly they believed me.

I went to wallmart and just looked around clearence areas. I used a deer whistle i believe. It was like 1.00 with the duck horn.
(i went around all night with them both, the duck horn sounded like a honda (it even had vtec) and the deer whistle made the bov sound

it was funny. Then i figured if try it for the heck of it and i liked it. All i have to do it pull off the hose to stop it.
