Blow Off Valve

i just installed my apexi blow off valve and everything turned out fine except my idle seem to be alittle higher.
it idles around 1.100 instead of 800 like it usda and when you start it when its cold sometimes the idle jumps up and down alittle. i dont think there is any leaks cause i still get 10lbs of boost i didnt get 2 check the boost pattern fully because my block is short and i dont wanna get on the big turbo on my block and i dont have it inshured but im shure everything is fine. my only mods that make horse power are dp and catback. i called apexi to see what they say and the guy i talked to didnt really seem to be there top mechanic but he said that happen and some cars dont even idle he said i need some type of fuel managment and i think he was trying 2 get me to buy a one of there piggy back systems. i was thinking about just turning down the idle just alittle. i think this maybe because stock the blowoff valve leaks out on idle, just wanna get some opinions and maybe some1 who had this happen and maybe some1 with this same blowoff valve 2 help. thanks

first, use more periods and separate your sentences. they are very hard to read.

i have the apexi dual chamber bov on my car and idle semi normal when the car is cold. thats expected though.

turn your idle down... you are fine. actually, i would wait until warmer weather to change your idle. it may only be the cold weather.

cold weather, rough idle is common for a rotary.

what does the new BOV sound like compared to the stock one? do you like it???

big will

i've never heard a stock one but mine is pretty loud. its more of a rush of air sound rather than a squeaker.

it sounds alright, its really not that loud i got it bran new in the box for $175 so i picked it up. its alittle louder then stock. anyway so u r saying on a hot day it might go down. it was like 60 and change when i put it in and i did drive it around the block like twice 2 get it warm and also let it idle for like 20 mins while i played with the ajments

And how would the blow off affect idle? It doesn't make sense.

The stock bov is letting air out of the system so the air pressure on the out side of the throttle plate and idle intake hole is less than if you have a bov that is closed at idle . The BOVs that were stock ( had the spring changed ) work better at idle and tip in . the after market valves are adjusted to be closed at idle .

cant they be adjusted to be open at idle?? dont they have an adjustment screw?? maybe the screw adjusts something different?? i have a greddy type s on the way....

They have an adjustment screw, but they are not made to vent at idle.

onefast3gen, you may try adjusting the tension screw on the BOV.

Start the car up; while idling, open the screw all the way until your vacuum starts going down (i.e. vacuum leak). Then tighten the screw SLOWLY until your vacuum is stable and STOP.

I have the same BOV and my idle never changed.

I TRIED THAT BUT I DUNNO IF I DID IT RIGHT. VACCUM SITS INBETWEEN 21 AND 23HG. IM GONNA HAVE TO TRY AGAIN WHEN THE WEATHER GETS ALITTLE NICER. BUT I THINK U R SAYING I SHOULD LOSSEN THE SCREW ALL THE WAY AND TIGHTEN IT AND WHEN THE VACUUM HITS THE LOWEST POINT TIGHTEN IT BACK UP.
