Block off plate question

Ok guys aim having trouble figuring out what’s the name for the block off plate circled in my pic? Would this be the air control valve pipe block off plate or the split air valve plate? Also when you block something off is it good to use the metal gasket that was there before or should you use some rtv on it?

i can't remember..I think air control valve...I would say get permatex Ultra Black RTV for it and skip the gaskets. go around the perimeter of the block off plate and around the bolt holes.

The circled one is the split air pipe. The air control valve is on the other side of the LIM, held on by three bolts.

You actually don't need to block off split air pipe, the only reason to block it off is for aesthetic reasons.

Wouldn’t there be a problem with debris going into it if not blocked off? Were does it end up at?

Sorry to raise the dead, but noticed that my car has no block off plate on the split air pipe hole on the LIM. Is this not a problem and shouldn't be contributing to my boost issue

It shouldn't but you can get a block off plate for like $10 or the entire set for $50 from banzai, will really clean up that unsightly hole and the single post you have sticking out lol. Take that post out as the block off plates come with bolts that replace them.

I did my block off plates last weekend. What limepro said, banzai is the way to go. It's amazing how much this stuff weighs once you got it all off, I was surprised.

How difficult will it be to remove the split air pipe, accelerated warm up system tube and all the studs with the engine in the car? I am eyeballing the best way to install these two Banzai block off plates.

Not too bad, I had removed the UIM and that helped quite a bit.
