Block off plate question

I have a block off plate kit yet i don't know where most of them go.. anyone have any pics of where they go? so far i've only used the one for the AVCR and the one under the upper intake manifold it's 13BREW ISC/BAC Solenoid i don't plan on removing the AWS system, but yah i am doing the simplification so any suggestions would be great

The AWS doesn't really do anything good, especially if you have a downpipe. At least nothing worth saving it for. Most people prefer to remove it since just about everyone is starting their cars in gear and/or blipping the throttle to prevent it from running its cycle before the car is warmed up. I would get ride of it just to make things easier.

There should be two plates that go right underneath the upper manifold- in the middle of it. Then there's another one for double throttle. There's one on the back edge of the lower manifold where the hose to the main cat connects, and another one on the outer surface of the lower manifold for the EGR valve. I know there's like 9 total including the oil plates.

Wish I could show more pics but that is all I have. You may want to think about removing the butterflies while you are at it.

JONSKI 02-29-04 11:06 PM

Why did you decide to remove the ISC?

widebody2 02-29-04 11:38 PM

I'm doing this as well, what are the butterflies?

HobbeZ 03-01-04 05:47 AM

ICS?

evot23 03-01-04 06:10 AM

butterflies= flaps of the double throttle control system. Remove the flaps to eliminate air flow restriction.

Snook 03-01-04 10:27 AM

widebody I took care of that, removed them and they are in the small clear ziplock bag (read those instructions in each bag it will help you out...

with the dust and shit (who knows what else is in there but the metal is out foshooo you gotta make sure to clean out all this shit with an air compressor. dont think your motor would appreciate it.

The ISC is not removed in that picture.

Boy I haven't seen this post millions of times, there are so many pictures floating around that show every block off plate installed, and uninstalled

Will block off plates be needed to remove AWS?

GoRacer 04-22-04 10:12 PM

ok cool, this (AWS) is one of the three I need to do. I did the double throttle allready and now the last one is "AWS pipe". Does anyone have a pic of the AWS pipe blocked off?

Snook 04-22-04 10:23 PM

its directly to the right of that block off plate in your face!!!!!!!!!

spyfish007 04-22-04 10:54 PM
