blitz sus w/ polished pipes?
Ok now im confused about the blitz sus intake system.Mine came with gold colored ceramic pipes.
But fumanchu has the blitz sus with polished pipes. So now im confused because this is something that i havent seen before.Who has any info or knowledge on this? Or are the gold pipes really aluminum.I doubt it though because it feels similar to the stock throttle body elbow. I hope someone can clarify this for me. |
They were polished, prolly by the same person that polished mine. They are metal (maybe aluminum - dunno), but not ceramic. You can also have them heat coated in cermachrome instead or in adition to.
|
thats friggin weird. What the hell is going on here.because mine sure dont feel like metal to me.I dont exactly want to try and poilish them especially if they are truly made out of a ceramic instead of aluminum.

wow.somethings screwy.
so ive searched and found no such variation on this intake system. But the fact that some people have aluminum hard pipes and some have the gold ceramic pipes is an indicator that there are two versions of the same intake. |
:nono: Their "NOT" ceramic! :bash:
Ask Rotor-Rooter, he polished mine. :stickpoke :bling: |
maybe yours arent.but mine are certainly not aluminum or metal.Like I said before they feel the same as the throttle body elbow. And that is also not metal or aluminum.
|
Im hoping someone else chimes in with some more info.because I know that im not halucinating. My hard pipes are not metalic at all. They feel more like a strong plastic.
|
well it seems that there is little to no info on any of this. But I know im not crazy and there does seem to be two types of blitz sus hard pipes.I would really like to have the polished hard pipes for my blitz sus intake.I wonder if im the only guy with the ceramic/resin gold colored hard pipes.
|
alright.well I feel somewhat stupid right now.I called blitz to confirm and they said that the material looks similar to plastic but is in fact cast aluminum. So I tried to polish it and sure as hell its working.Im so relieved that it is aluminum. Now the hard part.Actually polishing it.
I guess I was wrong. |

shinny is good
|
Well the polishing is for the most part done.Aside from some damn scratches that didnt come out.I probably needed to use some 120 grit which I didnt have at the time. The autozone only had 40 80 and then jumped to 180.Luclyly I had 150 grit. But I think some 120 grit would have gotten rid of some of the deeper scratches.Aside from that I worked my way all the way up to 2000 grit and then polished each hard pipe with tripolli and white rouge.I must say that they came out very shinny indeed. So if anyone is thinking of doing this yourself.Go for it.
