I have had the Blitz FMIC since my car was non-seq back in 2000. Kept it when going GT35R single in 2004. It has been great for both setups.

I have seen the Greddy and it's total setup isn't as nice as the Blitz IMHO.

I'll echo what Chuck said. I've had the blitz for 4 years or so now.. The kit is very complete and I feel it fits the car better. It's also has a tad shorter piping and is more symmetric (am I weird that this was desirable to me?). The only negatives I found were:
- the install instructions are in Japanese.
- Installing with a Koyo radiator (thicker) didn't leave much room for the hard oil line that runs between the R1 only oil coolers. You need to pull these out and bend them a bit to make them fit, or replace them with a soft line.

RotaryDreamz 08-30-06 08:28 PM

I got mine from the RX-7 Store. http://www.rx7store.net/
Or from Gotham Racing. http://www.gothamracing.com/catalog/...roducts_id=254

The shown pictures are generic, not the RX-7 version.

The Blitz site doesn't even show the kit for the RX-7, I don't know if it is discontinued or whatt?

Below is view with single shark inlet expander and SS wire protective mess in front of the IC.

I've had both - blitz is a better unit. Design seems to be better for airflow to the rad, also.

im buying a used blitz fmic and it comes with 4 mounting brackets... i was wondering if it needs more brackets or it has enough to install it in my 7...

crazyrx7 08-31-06 10:27 AM

The Blitz is nice because you don't have to take the bumper off to install it where as the Greddy one you have to take the front bumper off. I love my Blitz intercooler. It is a very high quality unit. When I bought it from Gotham racing they told me that I bought the last one (that was in February of this year) in the country. They were mentioning something about not being able to get them anymore or there was a huge back order on them.

+1 for Blitz. I've had it for about a year and a half and it's performance is top notch both on the street and on the track.

RotaryDreamz, there are quite a few brackets that are needed for the Blitz FMIC installation. Unless you're good at fabricating your own brackets, you probably don't want to buy the used kit with only 4 brackets.

RotaryDreamz 09-01-06 10:41 AM

hey thanx REAmemiya.... yea i wouldnt want to go through all that trouble without a complete kit...

LovMyRx7 09-01-06 12:21 PM

looks like on the blitz you have to relocate or get a smaller battery, and relocate your AST...anybody else catch that? is it the same with the greddy unit?

crazyrx7 09-01-06 03:57 PM

For the Blitz you don't have to relocate the AST as it comes with a new bracket for it. You also don't have to relocate the battery you just have to buy a smaller one (like a honda or miata battery). I don't know about the Greddy though.

I have the Blitz also and its a great kit, only thing is if you wanna keep A/C you have to bend the hell out of the condenser lines and it gets a bit concerning but it works just the same. Also you have to move the PS lines a bit.
