Big Problem Please Help
 

SO yesterday my car would not start at all. I have never had a problem with this car besides a rough idle so with the help of Jodeny I came to the conclusion that it was the spark plugs because the detailer i used flooded my car. When taking out the spark plugs that where dirty and had some oil on them I noticed they were all 9's I bought new spark plugs 7 and 9 and placed them in the right spot. The car started instantly and I was happy till i looked behind me and saw the clouds of white smaoke pouring out of my exhaust. I drove for about 10 minutes hoping the smoke would go away but no such luck. My Idle is also non existant and when i take my foot off the gas the car dies out. How can changing the spark plugs cause all these problems? Any help would be appreciated

Check the vac hose to the MAP sensor. You might have popped it off while getting to the plugs.

if thats the case did i screw up the engine driving it like that?

As long as you didn't try to boost, you should be fine. Just plug the hose back in and see how see runs.

Hmmmm, bad coolant seals.... If the car ran fine before the plug change, it's probably not that. Double check and make sure the plug wires are firmly on the plug ends.

Are you sure your detailer didn't take it for a joy ride or rev it before it warmed up? From the sounds of it, you have a bad coolant seal either inside the turbo(s) or the engine.

i had this problem on my FC, it was late at night and i got the trailing and leading spark plugs in the wrong spot...check those to start off...but hey, could be coolant seals...but what do i know, lol.

I am pretty damn sure I put them in the right spots but I guess I can take them out and double check. The trailing end was the top and the leading ends was on the bottom. Just to double check what plugs are sopposed to be on top and what ones are sopposed to be on bottom?? WOuld this cause the problem? ALso I just dont think my seals would randomly go because i changed the spark plugs.

I checked all vacum hoses last night and nothing is detached. All I can think is that the spark plugs are in the wrong spots or maybee i mixed up cables but I was very careful when I replaced them. Just in case could someone tell me what plugs go where and what plug wires go were as well. I will cross reference and make sure that mine match up. Im just hoping to god my engine is okay. I dont know how a routine spark plug change could do this.

Stock FDs come with 7s leading (bottom) and 9s trailing (top). Honestly, that isn't your problem. For a single turbo modded car like Kevin's old one (the one you bought) you want to run 9s all around ideally. You'll be fine either way.

Check your plug wires, but again--I doubt this is your problem, swapped plug wires will cause an erratic idle but not smoke.

Does the white smoke smell sweet? Check your coolant level, and your oil level. You need to determine what the smoke is.

Something isn't right. I recommend getting jodeny to thoroughly go through the car, he knows his shit. Otherwise, I'd be happy to take a look at it for you, I spend some time out in Syosset occasionally. PM me if interested.

This phrase scares me. Did the car ever leave your sight while your car was getting detailed? In other words, did you drop your car off and come back for it later?

yes i dropped it off and came back later but the battery in the car was dead and they pushed it in.

How did the car get flooded? Who unflooded it? If it was the shop who finally got it started, $100.00 says they wrapped it up to 8k the second the finally got it fire. Hopefully thats not the case...

If the battery was dead, and they NEVER tried to start it, how did it get flooded?

Maybe the detailer jump-started it. How many miles were on the car before and after it was detailed?
