big boost problem with non seq

While putting in the new motor tried to go non seq
I have full exhaust and intake with pettit ecu and at full throttle I get 3-4 psi depending on the gear. At higher gears like 4th and 5th when I step on the gas the boost comes on and then vents and comes back on. In the lower gears I just hear a constant venting going on. I'm not sure that it is a leak I think there is another problem that is telling the car to vent the boost. When I hear all of the air it sounds like it is coming from the passenger side where the glove box is.

please tell me where to keep looking so I can find this problem because 3psi is not enough

sounds like a leak to me. check the y pipe coupling, crossover pipe, both ic and the elbow. Then be sure the intake pipes have nice connections and are not collapsing.
good luck :)

I've been told by the local experts that the control selanoids aren't plugged in or something. We are going to look at it tommorrow.

thanks for that stuff you sent me I got it all to work! I was kind of upset though when I got the bose totally working for the first time. It's not bad just nothing too impressive.
What were you going to use to glue those defrost vents? I don't mind doing the work if it will hold.

guys we messed with it today for sooooo long and still not getting the proper boost. I'm sure lots of you have gone non seq and understand how it works. What we got it to do now is 7 psi but it fades away from 5-7 rpm and I still hear a huge air sound from the motor.

I will take pics if I have to just tell me what info you need to know. What could be causing this?

thanks so much for any advise

check the tca door to make sure it' s still wired open ??what are you using to control boost??

bleed valves

i'm having the same problem, except i can hit 10psi and then fades to 7-5psi

sucks...i want sequential back

did you wire the door open in the exhaust manifold? it should be pushed all the way in.

93BlackFD Feb 16, 2003 01:27 PM

i wired it closest to the bolts that held the TCA on, which to me is "pushed all the way in"

right?

exhaust is louder...
