This is about the cheapest place I have found $1266 http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templa...178&SearchYN=N

I have had several customers buy Blitz kits from this site recently and they have shown up much quicker then the Greddy's that have been ordered from other stores.

They even sell the Greddy elbow and pipe kit lower on the page

mrb63083 03-29-08 01:29 PM

^that's the cheapest I've ever seen...

spdstarx7 03-29-08 02:29 PM

Very cool, I will be looking into that BLITZ FMIC for sure.

Is there anywhere that sells that extension pipe alone? instead of w/ the elbow.. because i already have the elbow..

AHarada 03-30-08 03:19 AM

Have any of you guys road raced with this IC? I've been waiting to finish up my Vmount, but I'm thinking about going this route now.

I'm thinking with a Koyo triple flow, REmedy water pump, fan mod, vented hood, dual R1 oil coolers, and maybe some ducting work, this setup would work well for keeping cool on the track.

Thoughts?

Yea the blitz ic these guys have are gone. But apexi has one just like it. It cost more because it includes an intake.

Don't use a FMIC for road racing. None of them let enough air thru for that type of driving. Stick with the V mount if that is what you already have.

how useful are the Efini Y-pipe? w/ twins or single turbos?

You know, you pose a good question...

I've always wanted to take a stock FD and see how it did with just the elbow. Or at least see if there as any significant difference in power.

mark1rx7 03-31-08 03:04 PM

I like the way the greddy looks better. It stands out more imo

You cant use the Efini with a single turbo. Most people buy the efini Y pipe because it doesnt use a coupler that will eventually crack and leak.

spdstarx7 04-01-08 12:15 AM

so it's pretty useless if you go twin now and change to single turbo later...

2jz-13bking 04-01-08 06:59 AM

i know were just talking about these 2 but thought my as well throw out this one, what about the HKS front mount, what do you guys think

Banzai-Racing 04-01-08 07:34 AM

The HKS is quite similar to the Greddy, but the piping runs under the radiator instead of over it. It is however super expensive.

^Is the HKS just as much of a pain to install as the Greddy?

Oops... For whatever reason I thought you were talking about the Greddy elbow, and not the efini y pipe...my bad.

spdstarx7 04-01-08 01:47 PM

hahah... so im guessin efini ypipe = no good w/ single turbo... but good replacement piece for twins only

GoodfellaFD3S 04-01-08 02:24 PM

By definition, the y pipe is for the stock twins----it's a 'Y' shape because there are two turbos.

Hexx's 7 04-01-08 03:22 PM

So out of all of these FMIC the best quality and the easiest to install is the Blitz, and would a Vmount be a better choice for the stock twins....

Jason 04-01-08 04:02 PM

The V mount is the best of both worlds but typically more money. I wouldnt say the Blitz is better quality, just a little easier to install. Really it comes down to what you prefer and what you want to spend. You arent going to see a performance gain one from another.

Another way to look at it is:

Blitz FMIC $1300

Greddy FMIC, Koyo Radiator, AST and Elbow $1175

For the money its hard to beat the Greddy setup.

GEO147 04-01-08 04:14 PM

I got a very good priced Greddy Mspec FMIC off ebay from a seller called Autocat51 for $530 plus shipping to Ireland which was nearly $200, but it still worked out cheapest, good value for Americans id say.....check it out. Also, sells the elbow too and put it inside the fmic box to save costs....good guy imo.

Also, can anyone reccomend a place to get a Koyo rad at a good price?? And due to the fmic blocking a large portion of the incomming air, should I be looking at a triple pass Koyo or will a two pass be ok??

Hexx's 7 04-01-08 04:25 PM

I see, so its all on how much you want to spend and by the way how well does the Greddy FMIC work on the stock twins

No its not all about how much you want to spand at all!! IAs Jason and others have stated above the Vmount is the best cooling setup....I just couldnt afford it!!

If Iwas rolling in cash I would have went Vmount all the way! Now I need a new rad aswell, new AST and smller battery...it all adds up you see!! lol
