bent trigger wheel

Hi guys,

Are the stock FD trigger wheel supposed to be bent? I have seen a few photos of other trigger wheels and non of them seem to have a bend in it.

No.

There hasn't been an attempt to lift the engine using the front pulley as a lifting point? Should be relatively simple to straighten, if it's bent only in one plane.

They aren't supposed to be bent. Depending on where it is bent, there could be issues with timing in that the crank angle sensors may not read properly. Thankfully, replacing it is not too hard.

What do you guys think, should I replace or fix?

FourtyOunce 04-07-17 10:07 PM

Replace. They can be had used in good shape for not many dollahz :bluesuit:

Yep, that thing is hella bad. It's a pretty precise gap that needs to be between the wheel and the pickup for best results.

Get a good used one, they should be a dime a dozen. It could probably be bent back into shape but it's not worth it.

Put it on a flat surface and make sure it is true. A bent trigger wheel can cause issues with timing.

Ouch, that sucks! Glad you were able to find a replacement for it though. How much were you able to snag it for?
