Bare wire in my tire well
 

What is the best method of fixing this.I have two wires that have exposed some bare metal. I have no clue what it goes to, the one wire is really thick compared to the rest and seems to be like a off white in color. It has about 6 mm of exposed metal. Would i better off cutting it and placing a connecting sleeve or use electrical tape? I know the wire will be exposed to water since it's in the fender well. I really would like to know what that wire is for and if i could of caused some damage driving it like that. Thanks

If the wire looks ok, tape it and call it a day. Use some heat-shrink, if you've got some.

does it run though the well or just dangles an end into it?
