Banzai diff brace question

This might seem a dumb question, but I've been pouring over the instructions and various pics online and cant tell if you are supposed to reuse the oem aluminum brace that goes through the rear of the ppf or not? It looks like it might fit, and the bolts might be close to being long enough, but most of the pics it looks like it isn't reused after the Banzai brace is installed, and the installation instructions and video are very vague about it. And if you don't reuse it, how are you supposed to secure the innermost two screw holes on the aluminum and plastic skid plates?

I've read and re read the instrcutions a dozen times and watched that video a couple times also. No mention of retaining the stock bar. Found tons of pics on google of the brace without it, but found this one old pic of someone else's setup, and looks like they kept the oem bar...

But without the oem bar, if you plan to keep your aluminum and plastic dust/skid plates these two holes have nowhere to attach to. I could see the aluminum one definitely having some issues rattling around.

hes also not using a stock subframe.. its a cast aluminum bar. youll be fine without it. why the obsession with wanting to keep it? realistically with the diff brace it serves no purpose. the diff brace attaches to the same sides as that brace and just adds a 3rd point with the diff. the same how honda people double up on rear frame braces... its a brace attached to a brace. youre bracing a brace with a brace. the redundancy does nothing. and as far as those mounting points go, you can use a zip tie to secure it to the diff brace.

I knew the oem bar was just redundant with the banzai brace. Just didn't want to have to jerry rig it with zip ties if I didn't have to. Strange no mention of this in the instructions. I guess everyone must just toss those plastic and aluminum shields.

a zip tie would be entirely acceptable in this situation. unless you want to cut the ends off the stock brace to use just the mounting points. you could even use velcro or double sided tape. theres a lot of attachment options for something like this.
