Bad ignition switch?

I have not figured out my fuse blowing issue yet.

I have poured through the forum, read wiring schematics and service manuals until my eyes bled, spent countless hours tracing every single wire that I can think would be at fault, took apart both CPUs to inspect them, switched to a new fan assembly, new Pettit fan switch, fixed some grounds, unplugged every gauge, fan relay, fan plug, exterior light, and switch that I can see is attached to the 15 amp METER fuse under the dash. The only thing that I haven't tested pretty extensively is a new ignition barrel, so could this be my issue?

I can buy a new ignition switch for $126.xx, and I'm seriously considering trying it. I would like to know if anyone here has ever had this problem before I lay down the cash for it. I'm exhausted, frustrated, and have been chasing this problem since I bought the car. It seems that the more wiring that I've fixed, the worse that the problem has gotten. It used to randomly blow the fuse once in a while, but now it blows the fuse as soon as I turn the key to ON. I can't drive the car at all until I get this sorted because I have no gauges, turn signals, or cooling fans. Any help at all would be much appreciated!
