Bad hesitation problem.
Hey i have a boost leak in my FD so im only pushing 5lbs of boost. Im not sure if that will be a factor or not. But yesterday my car was hesitating very bad at around 3000 rpm. after that it would pull hard. Any Ideas? thanks

If it helps it only happens when the vehicle is moving and at hard throttle.
|
I have absolutely the same problem with the difference that i dont know how much boost i have. My boost gauge didnt arrive at this time.
Maybe you have the same problem? --> If you push the gaspedal only a little bit, everything is fine, the turbos are spooling. But if you push the pedal to the medal, it sounds like an old diesel tractor engine and there is no boost. When you start from a standing start, everything pulls fine but only for 1-2 seconds. I guess i have to build a LED with wires to get possible errors from the ECU. I put of the hose from the double throttle actuator on the throttle body. I thought it could be possible that only the main throttle would open. I closed the open hose of course, but there hasnt anything changed. If i cant find the problem, im thinking about changing to non sequential... Nissannick, does your problems sound like mine? |
Yea that sounds exactly like whats happening to me.
I was thinking maybe a faulty ignition coil? What do you think? Im not sure if the turbos would be the problem. i just dont really know where to start. |
Or what about a throttle position sensor?
|
I had that problem and found out I had an air leak... fixed the leak and ran good after... check for air leaks even the slightest (as mine was) can make a huge difference...

However we need more information. Have you done anything to it lately? Any rupture hoses? Vacuum leaks? Have you checked your TPS adjustments and measurements? If all comes to all, I believe the FSM has a way to check the coils to see if they are bad or not. Best way in my opinion is try and get another set from a local see if they are willing to let u borrow it. Plug it in and check it out =D -AzEKnightz |
Are you running a Power FC?
|
No i am not running a power fc. Any the only prior problem was the boost leak. I pulled the plugs out today and they were pretty fouled. im thinking that might have been part of the problem.
|
So new plugs are installed. No change
Im not sure where else to look. I need help! |
Guys i have the exact same problem......
I changed plugs, fuel pump and nothing changes |
Hi, digging this old thread up, i want to know something.
Like on this thread here ( https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/fixed-my-idle-problems-backfiring-bucking-more-170731/ , could you measure the voltage at the throttle positions sensor? I guess this is our problem. When you click that link above, you can see that i wrote the last reply. Suddenly, it seems no one knows an answer on my question. So im asking you with the same problems, nissannick and babyboy mz, could you measure the TPS with a voltmeter? If you have the same problems like i have, then i have to grab deep into my pocket and order a new TPS ( 340$ at malloy mazda ). regards Andi |
