bad boost control solenoid?
hey guys,
i have a Greddy E-01 boost controller in my car its weird but i can't get it to boost past a spike of 8.3 psi could this be because the solenoid is bad...the fact that it went past 7 psi makes me assume that i'm not just running off the wastegates, is a this a correct assumption to make? is there a way to test the solenoid to make sure its working? help would be much appreciated thanks, VJ |
are you using stock intercooler piping?
first check behind the intercooler, the S shaped rubber pipe and the crossover tube for cracks |

If you look at it from the middle, there are 3 ports. the middle one is your normally open (NO) port. The right one normally closed (NC). The left one is the common port (COM). air should flow from the middle NO port to the COM port. When you apply +12V and Ground (you could use a 14V drill battery) to the terminals of the solenoid connector you will hear the solenoid click. Air will now flow from the NC port to the COM port.
It is unlikely that the solenoid is bad. It is highly likely that you are confused with how to use the controller or how to route the lines.
