Baby in the back?
Will a baby seat fit in the back seat of the 7 with the JDM rear seats, or am i forced to go car shopping?

I think it would be smart of you to go car shopping, I personally would feel safer with my kid not being in a sports car and rather something safe. Just my .02

I'm sure any race shop could fab a set of brackets to mount it over the driveshaft hump and to a race harness brace. it would be the safest spot in the car!

4 door beaters are awesome (especially an AWD subaru during winter :icon_tup: ) |
I have the rear seats in my car. I also have a three year old. I have put a car seat in the back and she fits with the passenger seat all the way forward. It is a great way to bring the family to meets. Plus now my daughter wants to take "the fast car" when we go out. In my state, a child, 8 and under has to be in a booster seat, although the seats do fit a child very well with out a car seat. I do not recommend this if the 7 is your family's only car, definitely by a family car that is safe for daily driving your child around.
I will see if I can find a picture. One other advantage of the seats is that you can a lot more storage space. not very much could be fit in those bins. |

t Actually, it looks like its time for the minivan!! Super77 |
Yes. They fit. If a Porsche can do it, so can we :) But....
I thought you had a Subie DD. No? I would recomend driving two cars to meets from now on. |
LOL, I meet a guy a few years ago with a 93 FD 20b converted , had like 550 hp at 10 psi and he had the JDM rear seats for his wife and a baby seat on the other side.

Unfortunately I don't have a pick with the baby seat in the car. I do how ever have a pick with my daughter in the back seat.
Now, I am very careful with her in the car, and no racing what so ever. But she likes the feeling of going fast, already. I have taken her for a ride a few times at WOT, and she loves it. She asks me to do it often but I tell her the police would put me in jail, then she will say, "I don't see any police". Hopefully these are good things for her to be liking. ;) Actually when ever I am working on either FD she has to be right there helping me. She knows what direction to tighten and loosen things, as well as use a screw driver her self. of course I tighten every thing after. She just turned 3 this past September. :) |
You encourage me to do this. When I have money I might!

vw jetta decently safe cars and good on gas, and they dont cost much, thats what im in the process of doing right now cuz of the kid on the way
|
Well, I already have two FD's... One is super raced up, the other is pretty much stock. Just intake exhaust and lowering springs. It makes a great daily driver! We also have a Cx-7, so the wife of course will use that... I had plans to 99 spec the DD and sell it at a later time for what i put into it... even has 105k on the original motor and turbos. runs like a champ!

Take baby for ride
I say if its a girl.. make her face backwards.
If it is a boy let him ride in the back and please try to take 270 degree exit ramps a 45mph! maybe its because i think we should stop having children cuz theres too many people on this planet consuming rx7's! |
