Just to hammer down the point...
M2 + Autoexe cf intake box == FAIL Attachment 759202 If you look at the gap between the IC and the PS wall above the coolant hose, there is no room at all. The widest part of the intake has to fill that spot and unfortunately, that isn't going to happen without alot of work. |

As an update,
Greddy SMIC + Autoexe intake + Fluidine rad + battery = WIN! Attachment 759188 The radiator had to be lowered a bit though. Special thanks to Hulan. |

This intake won't work as well as a modified stock airbox. The opening is in a very poor position. There is just not much air available where the intake opening is.
now I think about it, the small opening leads to a large opening before it hits all the intake tubes, which means that air velocity would drop. |
I think the intake will work because it is actively pulling air from a fresher location.
From the first page of the thread in case anyone forgot... https://www.rx7club.com//attachment....postid=2641463 I've been seeing around < 35 celsius at speed with the relatively small greddy smic. The temps would also go down almost immediately if I was going very fast. This could be from my new fast acting intake sensor though but I definitely remember a longer wait with my previous setup. Either way, more direct ducting would help I'm sure but I'm happy with what I'm seeing right now. With WI I think I'll be even happier :). |
Andy, you know my idea of a modified front plate to increase the volume of air.
Also---- time for a new avatar dude. Seriously. |

hey Supernaut, what kind of air temperature you see with this intake?
|
Cruising, on a hot day, I see around 38 celsius. On a cold day I see around 35 celsius. Temps go down REALLY fast at speed. Its hard to say how much I get cruising around town. I do get heatsoaked in traffic but it is definitely better than what I experienced before. Also keep in mind that I upgraded alot of stuff at once so it is hard to tell where my improvements came from. When I get more seat time in the car, I'll post some updates.
|
yeah I see you got new greddy smic. you had M2 smic before?
|
No I had the stock IC. I just have an M2 medium and large as extras hahaha.
|
hey man sell me the M2 medium if that has the duct too.
btw, that air temp is pretty good. |

Hey Bud, who makes those polished pipes going from the intake to the turbo's, are there any benefits over the plastic ribbed OEM ones?, glad I could help with Marcus! cheers.
