Autobahn event.

Got the yellow beast running again, and there are some issues i have to work on but it still was the fastest car on the north track (autobahn, joliet IL). Andy(GooRoo) was also spanking everyone in his group, he has only been to a handful of track events and is already fast.

I met some forum guys here and look forward to give a few rides tomorrow. Hey guys, post here so I can get your forum names again.

a few issues i need to figure out still:

- car is burning to much oil ( a LOT of oil), dunno if its the engine or the turbo yet

- injector duty is higher than it should be for my given boost level with my fuel setup

I'll post more on these issues later when i can get into them in more detail.

(here are some pics Andy took)

update on my engine status -> my gotham engine parts were damaged by UPS, so i could not re-assemble that engine...so i picked up Blake's engine to get the car running.

I'll try to post some videos if i get time.

PS
For those who saw Andy's post of this event with the pic of the enzo... it was running on the south track, so no, i didnt get to go head to head against the enzo :-) .... by the way I have huge front brakes and the enzo brakes made mine look like mini-brakes, my fronts were smaller than its rears ;-)

Yea I got to see an Enzo at the LeMans races in portland earlier this year. First thing I noticed were the massive size of its rotors! Theyre huge!!

Nice ride Damian. It was also nice to meet you. We were Railgun69 and Impactwrench(old guy).

damian 10-30-05 03:23 PM

hey impactwrench, it was great meeting you guys, wish we had more time to chat, I just got done taking christian (railgun69) for a ride, ask him how it went ;-) ill post a video of those laps when i get a chance.

we have a few more sessions left, taking some more passengers, i got my c6 zo6 and ford GT kills for the day :-)

damian 10-30-05 05:30 PM

well, the track is closin up and it was a great weekend, my only regreat is forgetting to put a new tape in my cam on the last session, it was the 'best' session of the weekend in terms of chasing cars down, i was in a zone, starting waay in the back and passing a bunch of cars including the c6 zo6 again ;-).... but at least i have a witness....I took a passenger with me LOL

i knew it would make for the best footage to put online, then i realized nothing got recorded :-( ... ohh well....the memory of it was great lol

Thats awesome you have had the experience to track with lots of cool cars. The C6 Z06's are supposed to be very very trackable cars. They put down some astonishing numbers at Nurburgring*.

Railgun 10-30-05 09:02 PM

I'll confirm the Z06 and GT kills. :D What a ride! Man...that GT and the other Mustang were SO reluctant to move out of the way too. Can't wait to see the footage.

Damian, you just showed me what I've been missing. Think I'll need to get myself a track car. :D It was great to finally meet you in person. Hope to see you on the track (albeit different groups) next year.

I couldn't believe how well that thing was handling around the track. I do indeed have a lot to learn. Phe-nom-e-nal. I'm hooked!

SayNoToPistons 10-30-05 09:17 PM

damn nice! how much are the one lap tickets for NurBurgring again? 19 US dollars?

impactwrench 10-31-05 09:02 AM

That was my son with you on the last ride. No confirmation needed. He wants me to tear my car apart and build it into a track car. Maybe thats not a bad idea.............Dave
