Auto-Manual Swap Harness Question

i have a question on the harness...

my setup is using a new 5 speed engine harness where i noticed the connectors in the picture below. 2 yellow connectors for the manual ecu, 1 blue (x-05 connector to be clipped and replaced with the auto x-05 connector), 1 white (x-14 connector to be clipped and replaced with the auto x-14 connector), and 1 black connector (which the auto harness has 2 black connector for the small grey box which is next to the ECU). Where does the manual black connector connect to?

Also...in the 2nd pic, you will see from the inside of the passenger side where there is the 1 blue x-05 connector, 2 yellow ecu connectors, and the 1 black connector, which connects to the small black box that is shown in the previous pic.

Can anyone provide any assistance?

well im not gunna give you a direct answer cause i didnt exactly do my 5spd swap, however, i used the 5spd engine harness. But your also goin to need the 5spd dash harness. Its small probably 2.5 ft in length. Do a search for "ring harness" and see what you come up with. Also the part guys like Fritz, Rotary Experiment, ect...should know what your talking about if you contact them. I think i picked mine up for like 25 shipped. Def worth it to save a headache of trying to cut and make the auto harness work. good luck

hmmm, there is a harness that goes from the ECU around the entire front of the car and back around the drivers side that technically would need to be replaced if doing it right... If i recall there are two black connectors that look very similar by the ECU.... one went to the Tranny ECU and one to the Electrical Load Unit...

Yes, you cant just plug in a manual harness to an auto dash/ring harness, it isnt going to happen. Some of the plugs are completely different as you have found out.

There's 2 basic options when doing a conversion. 1) use all existing auto trans wiring and hack/splice/repin connections as necessary, or 2) convert to all new manual trans wiring, engine/emissions, dash, and front "ring" harness that goes around the engine bay and into the cabin at both kick panels.

Yes, I have done the conversion. The one that I did, we elected to do it "right" with a manual dash harness, engine harness, ring harness, gauge cluster, and ecu. When all was said and done, nobody, not even an rx-7 expert, could walk up to the car and tell it was a conversion.

after reading RotaryResurrection's post... i guess i have a dash and front harness to buy, since i already have installed the new manual engine harness?

what is the black connector shown in the 1st pic? this is also on the auto harness and connects to the EC-AT box. There are 6 wires in the 16 wire connector which the auto harness has 2 black connectors that goes to the EC-AT box. I looked at the manual and was unable to identify where this connects. Also...in the last picture there is another black connector that connects to the little black box in the 2nd picture. Will this need to be connected when assembling all the connectors?
