Auto->Manual Diff question

Is there any method to retaining the 3.90 automatic diff?

Am helping a friend who is trying to cut costs...

I think you have a dangling participle. How exactly is that supposed to help cut costs? Is he doing a manual conversion and doesn't want to buy a 4.10 gear? I am a little confuse by the question

search for companion flange. I've read posts where people have just drilled new holes and kept the 3.9 diff with the manual driveshaft/tranny.

that's what it's called...it's the "yuppie" portion of town

it saves money because you do not HAVE to replace your gauge cluster and pulling the diff isn't required

i will do a search

Its called a companion flange and its 120bux from mazda. Its cheaper because although 4.10 gears are cheap the price of setting them in to your differential isnt.
