Ashtray as a wideband holder?

Has anyone modded their ashtray as a wideband holder? I bought this FD and the ashtray is all glued and cut apart. I was curious if that's why this one looked like that or maybe something else was there.

Some people have mounted the PFC Commander or an MP3 player or such in there.

I've seen that. This car had something there but I'm not sure what. It was a Peter Ferrell car that had the 'purple' computer. The switch was in the glove box so I don't know what used to be in the ashtray.

This would be much more difficult for us to figure out, much easier to tell when a train has come by.

DRTHVDR,

A few years ago, interior modifications were pretty big. People were hacking up the interior panels for all sorts of things. I've seen a few things embedded into the center shifter panel over the years including:

Wideband gauges/readings
PFC commander
MP3 players

and the list goes on. Most of those people have sense sold their cars and left the RX7 scene. You may be able to find pictures of Jay's old FD on Urban Racer. I believe he had the PFC commander embedded into the shifter panel.

You want the wideband display on the dash or somewhere where you can easily see it without taking your eyes off the road.

Why would you want to measure the AFR of your ashtray? LOL jk
