ARC SMIC Custom Duct - PICS -

Well,

After I noticed a poor colling performance on Dyno of my ARC SMIC with stock duct, I decided to give the IC a new opportunity with a custom made Duct.

Here you can see the old fit with stock duct.

Duct is not big enough to cover the IC core are.

So I decided to custom build a Stainless Steel duct that would cover the whole IC core are. This is how it came out.

I canīt really tell a difference from street driving point fo view, and I donīt have Intake Temp gauge so I donīt have a scientific testing of the duct.

Anyway just by touching the IC after a highway run I can tell is PRETTY worm, I guess it doesnīt sound right when is supposed to cool the incoming air.

Probably I would give him an opportunity for a while and the take the ultimate decision of FMIC or SMIC, in both scenarios from what Iīve read I would take Greddy for sure.

Thatīs it.

Saludos desde Chile.

looks good but needs to be painted or powder coated black.. just add a AI/meth injection kit to lower intercooler temps and ur system will be fine.. ARC is one of the best I/C on the market so it will perform great with AI/Meth injection.

You think it worth better an AI/Meth system that a better IC ??

yes an AI/meth system is better than an upgraded intercooler by far. you can keep the stock intercooler and just add AI/meth for outstanding results.

Thanks for the advice, Iīll take the AI/Meth direction...

Gracias y saludos..!!!

if you have a pfc commander you can monitor air temp from that, make sure there's some sort of seal where the duct meats the IC so air doesn't escape through the gaps. I can't tell if you already have one or not.

Hi, does anyone an original photo from the front of the car with stock ducting and stock radiator? how much is the IC ducting visible?

before I changed the water radiator, the ducting was sitting in original place, but with the new radiator, the ducting is quite higher. so i modify ducting, to catch more of the air from the front of the car and i donīt know...

what you think?
