Apexi power intake---can I paint it?

Hi,
I just got my new Apexi Power intake from NOPI today (222$ shipped) The metal pieces are not painted....can I paint them red with an engine paint? Is this ok? Any suggestions on paint?
Also, what is the polished aluminum cylinder that comes with the intake? It is in the center of the picture I have attached. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Paint may flake.

The cylinder may be the silencer for the air pump discharge. Maybe stick it inside the discharge tube.

Would even flake if it was made for the high temp of the engine comparment?

Why do you want to paint the pretty silver aluminum a color? Especially rice red? I think you may regret that one day. If anything, polish that stuff up! :D

Did you know that rice paddies contribute 30% of the methane being contributed to the atmosphere? And did you know that methane causes much more global warming than CO2 and CFCs?

:wtf:

I agree though POLISH that shit!!!!! That looks much better than painting anyway. Talk to twinturboteddy and see how much he can get it polished for you.

You could also get it powder coated for pretty cheap, and not have to worry about it peeling like paint. No, just go get it ceramic coated, that's it! hehe!! :D
