APEXI POWER FC + Commander
 

is there any benefit for me to get a APEXI POWER FC + Commander.

i have at the mo. factory ECU and HKS F-con with GCC and just about to install Apexi AVC-R.

Will the Power Fc give me any benefits over these.

my mods are.

HKS B.O.V
HKS F-CON+GCC
HKS huge exaust
No cats
HKS hard pips
Boost gauge
Turbo timer
Apexi AVC-R

with stock twins.

is this a simple install and would i need tuning or would i be able to plug and go.

Any help would be appreciated guys.

BTW i have searched and questions not answerd.

its very well answered and asked often. The PFC is a stand-alone ECU that is fully programmable with datalogging capabilities (using the optional dataloggit).

The Fcon and AVC-R are just *cheats* to lie to the stock ECU... they dont offer the precise tuning and management the PFC or other stand-alone systems offer.

The Apexi PFC+C is a 'bolt-on' installation, it requires removal of the old ECU and simply plugging in the new one... there is a slight modification required but its simple... you must cut four wires going to the ECU -- it only takes a couple minutes to find the wires and snip them but beyond that its 'plug n play'. Then ofcourse you must find a reputable tuner that can tune it for you.

The only thing putting me off now then is getting it tuned cause car is running fine at the mo and i work 7 days a week and dont finish till 7pm when everything is closed so was hoping it would work without a tune.

Highly unlikely i know but was worth a shot.

Oh and i would have to make a 370 mile round trip for a rotary tuner to look at it.

Been reading and noticed that the PFC has factory maps.

Bear in mind my mods (not many) would one of the factory settings be ok till i got to tune the PFC ?

Wont get to tune the PFC for another 2 months.

Can i harm my car with the factory maps ?

BTW would the factory map be better and more reliable than the F-con and AVC-R ?
