Apexi Downpipe

I would like to know what you guys think of the downpipe, some reveiws, if you have it on your car what are the pros and cons of it? Is it quiet or is it loud? And if you think there is a better one out there, and what the pros and cons of it are. Thank You.

I don't think Apexi make a down pipe for FD's do they?

i think any downpipe that eliminates the precat will make it slightly louder...

i dont think ive heard of apec'i making one either...

Any downpipe that eliminates the precat will make the exhaust quite a bit louder. Other than that, I think they all sound and flow basically the same, just make sure you get one for a LHD FD. If you get one for a RHD FD, it'll be a bit more restrictive.

Seriously though, a downpipe is just a pipe. The only questions to really be asked are 1: Quality of contruction--you don't want a downpipe that will have the flanges break off in a year. And 2: Fitment issues--Does it bolt right in to the stock locations or do you have to muscle the main cat around or create extra spacers or cut and weld at all to get it on? Aside of those two factors, moreso #2 than #1, all cat-less LHD FD downpipes are the same. The vast majority are catless as well.

hks and greddy make rhd pipes, smb as well.. i haven't seen a apexi one though

is hks still making their pipes in mild steel? anyway i don't see why people would use a rhd pipe in US cars :)

we're talking about downpipes!

SINxSELEKTAH 01-08-08 06:29 PM

i'm well aware of that, but what does RHD & US LHD have to do with downpipes?

sevensix 01-08-08 06:41 PM

rhd downpipes are crush bent to clear the right sided placement of the steering components
