Anyone using HKS Ti exhaust with midpipe?

I'm curious to know if it's too loud for you guys that are using the HKS carbon / titanium with a downpipe, and midpipe. Also, with downpipe, midpipe, and HKS ti, does it have a deep or rice tone?

Any info would be appreciated.

I had the hks 4" race titanium exhaust which came with a unmuffled midpipe and that was way too loud on the street coupled with downpipe. I got rid of it and put a resonated midpipe with a jic titanium catback and sound levels are much more reasonable now. :)

I had an HKS Hi-Power exhaust which is basically the same as the Carbon-Ti one except the muffler is just stainless steel. I had it with a DP and MP and it was pretty loud, but very deep and not ricey at all. I eventually switched to a Racing Beat exhaust for more reasonable sound levels.

I have the Carbon-Ti, with a straight midpipe it is very loud. With a Borla x1 welded in fine except for highway cruising, then it resonates in the car fairly bad.

i had the exact same thing, i went the route of putting in the BÖNEZ high flow cat, took the raspiness out of the tone and its much quieter, plus its a very nice cat i have no power loss (but i do have a single turbo with an external wastegate so not all the exhaust goes thru the cat at WOT)

I will have a similar setup but using a metallic substrate cat (which I doubt will quiet it down too much). In preparation for the noise:

Not sure how the sound difference will be with your cat vs my Bonez , but Im running this exhaust with a DP, Bonez HF Cat, and its actually very mellow. Cabin noise is very low under normal driving and cruising, even at WOT its not annoying, just enough to let you know its there. I absolutely love this combo.

Yea I have the CF Ti too. I LOVE how it sounds at WOT, but the drone 24/7 really sucks lol.

I had the HKS Carbon/Ti also and I completely agree. At WOT it sounded awesome but I just couldn't live with the drone - it was so bad at crusing rpms that you couldn't have a conversation with someone in the car without raising your voice. This was with a Bonez hi-flow, with a MP I'd think it'd be even louder again. Running an RB dual now and very liveable.

Simon.

Yep, had the Carbon Ti and down pipe too, kicks @$$.

Thanks for your input. I currently have a downpipe, midpipe, and Apexi GT Spec and love the deep tone. I might switch to the HKS carbon ti, but I'm hoping it doesn't sound gay. :D
