I'd like to know too. For those who don't want to follow your link, this is regarding GODSPEED HOOD SHOCK DAMPERs.

This allows you to eliminate the "kick stand" for the hood.

My friend (recon fd) has a similar kind...they work well...Keeps you from burning your hand from the hot hood...once you pop the hood, just raise it a little the the hood goes up!

More weight makes for a slower RX7!

6'2"@120 pounds Holly S**T

Wish i could come close to that well maybe not that low, that like starving low.

I am 6'6"@240 pounds but it is all man :buttslay: :fingersx:

I've been looking at that also. If it's a bolt on thing, with no serious modifications required, then that's pretty damn cool. I think I've seen someone on this board also who only used 1 to hold the hood up.

Well maybe not that low but i wouldn't mind losing 5-10 pounds. I am at 145 right now. I'm skinny but not grossly skinny. I just don't want to get a gut.

Are you serious? The stock shift knob probably weighs more than these.

no experience with these from anyone? im thinking of getting these as well

moconnor 03-23-07 08:00 PM

I bought these because I though there was no other alternative at the time. (RE was out of business and I didn't know about the NRG ones.)

Quality is not too bad for the price but I had to spend 10 minutes with a Dremel to make one of the balls slide into its socket. Once installed they look decent and work well. I'd spend $50 more and get the NRG ones if I were doing it again.

GoodfellaFD3S 03-24-07 11:12 AM

I've read that these only work with the stock hood, not with aftermarket hoods. With all the mods I have on my FD, for some reason these things have never really appealed to me.....

rxcited2 03-24-07 11:39 AM

Got some feedback from a friend and saw them on his stock hood. They are kind of cheaply made. He had the same issues with the balls not snapping together easily. He also complained that the mounting bracket (to the hood) was too small. He thought some better ones were available that had a larger L-shaped bracket that overlaid most of the stock hood's hinge bracket. Maybe these are the NRG ones referred to by moconnor?
