hmmm mine looks too small for the rx7 drain hole... i have the SD-2... is this the right one?? fram says yes... but it looks too small

I installed the orange one from Fram awhile back... if it is labled 'SD-2' and 'M14x1.5' then it is the correct one.

Picked it up from a local auto parts store. Works great. No worries about getting burned by hot oil or making a mess all over the place.

I've got one, it's nice: makes changes very easy. If the car's hot you might want to use a wrench, the sure-drain still gets hot.
Some people gripe that it leaves a bit of oil in the pan still vs. removing the regular drain plug, but it hasn't seemed to be a big deal. Besides, even if it did leave a bit in the pan, it wouldn't compare to the amount in the oil cooler.

I had one in my FC, didn't have any complaints about it but not sure that it was really worth the cost.

how was it not worth the 15 bucks? in fact i just bought 3 of these things so i hope they are as good as im thinking they should be in theory. id pay 100 dollars if i never had to get oil all over the place again. also it seems that it should make oil changes much quicker. maybe i could get my arm under there and not have to jack up the car?

I was going to get the anodized version from racerpartswholesale but it's $45 both peices. I originally thought it was a pull/push design. I did not want to loose the other peice and thought if I had to screw it on then it's just as much effort as the drain plug. The only benefit is less mess. I got the fumoto plug instead. It's not as easy to use as I thought. I have to use a sucket to move the lever. We'll see if it gets easier once it's lubed with oil. so does it automatically start draining once the other part is screwd on?

I've been using a Fram Sure-Drain for a couple years now and like it. It's never leaked and oil changes are easy.

Since the Fram has a tube on it I now drain all my oil into empty 2 liter soda bottles. They're easy to store and with their strong sealing caps I can safely get the used oil to the store to dispose of it without worrying about a leaky oil dump pan :bigthumb:

I use the Fumoto valve. I think it's easier, since you don't have to keep track of a hose, and then have to clean that hose when down. Just flip the valve, drain, flip it back, fill. Done
