completely assembled Rx7 Rotary engines or shortblocks for 3rd gens? I also need to know where i can find complete rear ends, and 5 speed transmissions. Trying to get a car built for my cousin thanks a lot

Malloy Mazda in VA sells reman short blocks for ~2200 with a core. I can get the number--my dad just ordered one from them.

I think silver93tt has a complete rear end. He had one awhile ago...

I guess they will sell a cosmo 20b with the tranny for 4500 bucks. And i guess the 20b is a 3 rotor engine... Well now i guess all I need to look for is the Rear end and I guess I'm all set to build my car

You need alot more than just a 20B(3 Rotor) to put that 20B in..

you mind clueing us in on what you are trying to build? Just to let you know, if you attempting to put a 20B into an FD, you are at the beginning of a long and expensive journey....

Not to burst your bubble but putting a 20b in an FD is not something most any of us 3rd gen guys would want to tackle. It hasn't been done very many times and it's quite an undertaking. First off, if done correctly you have to move or modify the firewall. That's enough to stop most people right there. Good luck if you decide to go with it but you'd be better off just finding yourself a streetported 13b and leave it at that.

damn i was hoping it would not be a problem alright then street ported turbo 13b it is. But i really need to know where i can buy a rear end here. My cousin wants to find a really beat up 3rd gen rx7 that he can get for almost nothing and then just fix it all up. i told him to rebuild the motor, trans, and rear end and the rest is pretty much little crap. Probably will get a new turbo to. Depending on how bad the condition of the rx7 is i will see if the rear end is still good. Most likely will have to replace the clutch. I am thinking of just buying that street ported 13b crate motor from that company with one of their turbos to match. then just take it to a mechanic and have him do the rest.

Not to sound like a prick or anything but I think you oughta do some research on 3rd gens before jumping into anything.

Try a search on modifying 3rd gens. Gordon Monsen started a thread on that is wonderful. If I had read it six months ago it probably would have saved me the cost of a rebuild.

For your own protection, don't just trust any mechanic. Make damn sure he has plenty of 3rd gen experience. I can tell you first hand about that.

Yeah I thirdly agree to research rx7's, learn how they're constructed, etc. Also know how much a "beat up" one costs. It maybe more $$ than you think. Also I know I will get alot of flames for this but if you know LS1's'/LT1's at all then you might just want to do this swap, www.grannysspeedshop.com has the stuff to do it but last I heard alot of their parts take months and months to get.

P.S. To the rotary purists please no flaming here. If he was going to do a 20B swap but doesn't want to then maybe this conversion is more up your alley. Plus if you know LT1/LS1 motors and what parts make power than that's another plus to working with a motor you know.
