Anyone ever repaired their glovebox?

Mine the latch is loose inside where it connects to the inner panel, but the box is glued together.... anyone ever get it separated repaired and back together without destroying it?

The latch connected to the glove box is loose, not the dash (top)? I thought there were visible screws there on mine but I haven't looked in a while.

i'm very jealous of your car combo there.

i just fix mine....the screws going from the box to the bracket were loose....

then bracket going to the dash (damn thing) ...the tap on the dash broke off...
had to fab a L bracket out of alum. to mount the box to the dash....

the box itself closes ok, but still not really tight, hangs down a little when its closed...

I was the first to have a glove box latch failure posted on the original RX7 list.
This is on my early 1992 made R1. I had to cut out around the latch in order to get to the screws which came out. Then I glued it back together with JB Weld.

As always, analyze the situation and implement the simplest logical solution.

I had a similar problem with mine. I pried the 2 peices apart just enough to see inside. Then I drilled a small hole from the outside of the glovebox to where the latch is connected to the inside. I then used a really thin screwdriver to tighten the screw that holds the latch in place. The end result is a working glove box with a barely visible hole on the outside.
