What do you mean??? I thought we had enough people to get a group buy...also, if I'm pushing around 500whp, should I get a 6-pt. roll cage, or should a 4-pt. be okay. I don't want a lot of chassis twist.
Thanks,
Craig

Im shooting for 600 hp and Im going with a 4pt roll bar, you can always weld on to it. We have to have $1000 worth of stuff purchased to get the discount. So far Im the only one definitely buying it.

6-Pt Roll Bar

Just wondering if we could all get the 6 bar instead or even if some of us could and we could get a good discount. But I have a question with the safety of the 4-pt. vs. the 6-pt. I will PM you. Also, will the bars really cut that much room out of the car (will tall friends actually have a hard time riding in it, or will it just be a little uncomfortable)? Thanks,
Craig

you can get whatever setup you'd like. Kirk sells the 6 pt for 445 I think which would put your price around 380 and probably about 60 shipping still...

LOL, wow, did they really?? They got it off rx7club then. They wouldn't actually have been able to put my name to my screen name together.

Thats cool, I don't mind.

Maybe I'll call them up and ask for a sizeable discount on a 6pt weld in bar! hehe

FWIW that red bar pictured is in my car. I supplied those pics to Kirk. I also did the install myself and cut the OE covers to fit around the bar to make it look as factory fit as possible. This was back in 1999 IIRC
Questions? I can prolly help. I've installed two of the 2" bars and helped with an install of a 1 3/4" bar.
Regards,
Crispy

Sorry to bother everyone again...but I was still wondering if someone who knows from experience could tell me if they know how much room is lost from the passenger seat as well as the driver seat and how tall some of their friends who have ridden in the car are...Thanks a lot,
Craig

Maybe 1-2 notches on Drivers side. I am 5'10" and fit perfect.

Passenger loses more probably 3 notches. Its a tight fit there already, and tighter now.

BTW, this is with the bar that mounts to the floor. The one through the bins probably doesn't lose anything except maybe recline.

right on, thats exactly right.

As for the pics. She went on and on about the red bar and how pretty it was I love it too. Really nice install.

btw... 6 point weld in cage is included in this group buy. I can post the exact price when I get to my office if you'd like. I'd be happy if you bought the 6 pt b/c that would put us closer to our buyin

I honestly don't know if I want to go with the 6-pt anymore because of the safety issue. That's one of the main issues for me to choose which pt bar to use. I think I'm just going to go with the 4-pt. But thanks a lot,
Craig

He isn't saying you can't get the 4pt with his GB...you can get either.

No, I know that...I was just saying since he sounded like he thought that I was interested in the 6-pt. I was just saying that I will get the 4-pt. How many more people do we need for the GB??? Anyone know?
Craig
Sorry for the confusion...

I believe Im ordering one for a miata
have to check on a price for a 240 cage

so if the last two pan out we're set... if not I can put a bar on ebay or something and drop ship it I suppose. Try to get some more people interested!

Why would the 6 point bar not be as safe as the 4point

Im curious cause I think I want to get this.. I think I would want the mounting that goes to the bins as I am a little bit taller im 6' so I need the space not to mention the fact I do have people ride with me..

But I dont know which to get 4 point or 6 point.. I would want the saftest setup... Thanks for the info and could you post pictures of the bin mount setup so I can see how much loss of the bin usage there is..
