Dave, after I talked with you this afternoon nothing much changed. The overflow tank didn't appear to have a crack so I put it back in and filled it up. I burped the system and filled the hose by the throttle cable, capped that, then filled the AST, capped that, and then I filled the filler neck in the coolant fill, waited for a few minutes and then capped that. I was hoping that the car would at least make it home(about 20 min.) and it did, but as soon as I got in my damn driveway the damn coolant buzzer came on:( Where the hell is all of my coolant going? I am not sure if this would help the car to overheat but I think that my air pump might be dead, when the clutch on the air pump disengages it screeches. If it were bad could that have anything to do with it? I guess I will pressure test it tomorrow, and see if that tells me anything. Oh yeah the coolant in the overflow tank was dirty as hell, could this mean a clog somewhere? I don't know I am just eliminating every possible scenario before I get a new motor. can you see coolant leaking anywhere? you might have a coolant seal leak, and not know, is there a smell of coolant in the exhaust? or can you smell it in the cab of the car?

there might be a leak in the upper coolant tract somewhere and it could be dripping onto the turbos or something to the like of that, thus evaporating and you might never see it.....

Did you check the line between the overflow and the AST like I was talking about? Make sure to track the whole thing to search for leaks...from one end to the other. The air pump would not affect the coolant in anyway.It just pumps 02 into the exhaust. I don't even have mine in the car. My next suggestion would be to either buy a workshop manual and trace every coolant line in the car. Or take it to PFS and just tell them that you need to find out where it is leaking coolant. Ray there could set you straight in no time. Most likely within 2 hours tops @ $75 per hour for labor. I guarantee they will find the problem.

Autozone, or your local auto parts store, should rent you a coolant system pressure tester. It connects on the water/coolant filler neck and you pressurize the system. If you can't find the leak right away leave the system pressurized overnight. You should be able to see where you leak is coming from then. Common leak culprits are:
Turbo coolant hoses (they get brittle and crack easily due to the heat),
AST coolant lines (they are notorious for small pinhole leaks, that are hard to find),
Radiator Hoses (check under the connectors)
Radiator (the plastic end tanks leak with age)

I'd check these first and then go on to the heater hoses and finally throttlebody hoses. Pressure test your system and let us know what you find.
