Anybody running the kakimoto Titanium or JIC Titanium exhaust on their FD?

Thinking bout selling my HKS titanium 4" racing exhaust and going for either the jic TI or kakimoto TI. Anybody running these? Thanks!

your 4" HKS Titanium is the same as the jic or kakimoto , why change? hks piping maybe a little bigger?

RX7 RAGE 02-20-03 01:53 PM

ths jic and kakimoto have full TI.....uncluding the piping....hks ti only has the canister in TI.

I do...full TI JIC

how much weight are you saving going with full Titanium?

Cossie 02-20-03 04:13 PM

never weighted it...but quiet alot...Installation is so much easier....

RX7 RAGE 02-20-03 04:13 PM

cossie...the jic full ti is just a catback right?

It is a complete system from mid pipe back...do u define this as a catback?

RX7 RAGE 02-20-03 04:20 PM

yea so it is just a catback than....are you running a midpipe or hf cat?

Cossie 02-20-03 04:22 PM

I run both ...

I go between 2 set ups

1 High flow cat or 1 borla muffler.

I use 2 set ups for different tracks. Specifically LSeca with the muffler due to sound restriction

I do not use the JIC for LSeca. I use an older HKS with a turned tip

RX7 RAGE 02-20-03 04:32 PM

nice, it must be really loud witht he midpipe huh?

Cossie 02-20-03 06:20 PM

it can be loud

I think you might save about 11 lbs over a typical stainless steel cat-back. PFS cat-back is in the 19 to 20 range with the Ti being in the 8 to 9 range. Saving 10 lbs for $1000 buck (minus whatever you can get for your used stainless) might be worth it if you don't have anything else to spend it on. Flow won't be much better unless the pipe dia. is bigger and/or the muffler they use on the Ti flows better.
Going nuts with the car Gene?

FYI - The JIC full TI catback exaust weighs 9lbs

Cetchup 02-21-03 12:15 AM

Gene, I dont think you are going to have to worry about the noise factor. You had the full 4" piping from DP back with your HKS exhaust, so the sound can't be any louder than that. Even when you did get on it, you could barely hear the exhaust note, all I heard when I was driving in front of you was the turbos...
